Tax Manager – Hybrid (Boston Area)

The Tax Manager will report to the U.S. Tax leadership team and play a key role across tax planning, compliance, and reporting. This is a newly created position with evolving responsibilities and strong visibility across the business.

The role is based in the Boston area with a hybrid schedule (1-2 days in office) and minimal travel requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Tax Reporting & Provision

  • Assist in preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures under IFRS
  • Support accurate reporting of income taxes in financial statements

Tax Compliance

  • Coordinate and oversee outsourced tax compliance processes, including U.S. federal, state, and international filings (direct and indirect taxes)
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and service providers

Transfer Pricing

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to develop, document, and maintain transfer pricing policies
  • Support implementation and monitoring of transfer pricing frameworks

Tax Planning & Strategy

  • Assist with global tax planning initiatives, including:
    • M&A analysis and modeling
    • Effective tax rate forecasting
    • Internal tax projections and memos
  • Conduct technical tax research and provide actionable insights

Controls & Audit

  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) compliance through documentation and testing of internal controls
  • Assist with tax audits and resolution of inquiries from tax authorities

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor changes in U.S. and international tax legislation and assess business impact
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the tax function
  • Serve as a resource to cross-functional teams on tax-related matters

Additional

  • Support ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or a multinational public company environment
  • Experience with tax provision and financial reporting (IAS 12 and/or ASC 740)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communicator with strong cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation
  • Experience in a global or life sciences environment
