Tax Manager – Global Tax (Hybrid – Boston)

The organization is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Global Tax team. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for improving processes in a fast-paced, publicly traded environment.
You will work cross-functionally with finance and business partners and play a key role in tax provision, compliance, reporting, and global tax strategy initiatives.
This is a hybrid position based in the Boston area, requiring approximately three days per week in office.
The Role
Reporting to Global Tax leadership, this position supports global tax operations, with a strong focus on ASC 740, SEC reporting, and international tax compliance, while contributing to strategic planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Provision & Reporting
- Assist in preparation and review of quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provisions using OneSource Tax Provision
- Support tax-related disclosures for SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K)
- Perform reconciliations of tax accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Prepare and review tax-related journal entries
Cash Tax & Forecasting
- Perform cash tax reconciliations, including analysis of payments, refunds, and estimated taxes
- Partner with FP&A to improve pre-tax income forecasting by legal entity
Compliance & International Tax
- Review international income tax returns prepared by external advisors
- Analyze GAAP-to-statutory differences and return-to-provision adjustments
- Support documentation and compliance across global jurisdictions
Strategic Tax & Special Projects
- Contribute to global tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s tax position
- Support BEPS-related requirements, including:
- Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR)
- Pillar Two implementation
- Transfer pricing documentation
Controls & Process Improvement
- Maintain and enhance tax provision processes, documentation, and internal controls
- Identify and implement process improvements within the tax function
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with accounting, FP&A, treasury, payroll, and other finance teams
- Manage relationships with external auditors and global tax advisors
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6+ years of progressive corporate tax experience (public company preferred)
- Strong expertise in ASC 740 and SEC reporting
- Experience with international tax compliance and concepts
- Advanced proficiency in OneSource Tax Provision
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred:
- CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation
- Experience with tax controllership responsibilities
- Exposure to indirect tax (e.g., sales tax)
