Position Overview

An established and growing organization is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to support a broad range of tax compliance, reporting, and research activities. This role offers exposure to multiple entity types and tax disciplines while partnering closely with accounting, finance, and external advisors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically strong, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings for a variety of business entities and investment structures.
  • Analyze financial statements and underlying accounting records to identify and calculate tax adjustments.
  • Research tax regulations and guidance to support filing positions and resolve technical tax matters.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed tax workpapers and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate information requests and communicate with internal departments to gather data required for compliance and reporting.
  • Assist with quarterly tax forecasts, estimated tax calculations, and year-end tax reporting requirements.
  • Support income tax provision processes, including data gathering, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Research and evaluate tax impacts of business transactions and operational activities.
  • Assist with resolving tax notices, audits, and inquiries from federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
  • Support indirect tax compliance activities, including periodic filings and payment processing.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
  • Contribute to special projects and strategic tax initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Approximately 4-6 years of tax experience within public accounting, industry, or a combination of both.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Preferred

  • CPA designation or active progress toward certification.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for multiple entity types.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and provision software platforms.
  • Exposure to income tax accounting and tax provision methodologies.
  • Experience supporting audits, tax research, and technical tax projects.
