About the Opportunity

Join a large, globally integrated manufacturing organization with complex international operations and supply chains. This role offers the opportunity to lead critical aspects of the company’s tax function, including global compliance, tax provision, transfer pricing, and strategic planning.

The Tax Manager will play a key leadership role in overseeing domestic and international tax matters, partnering closely with finance and business leadership to manage risk and optimize the company’s global tax position.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Reporting

  • Oversee preparation and filing of U.S. federal, state, and international tax returns, including income tax, franchise tax, and indirect taxes (VAT/GST)
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740 / IAS 12
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax accounting and reporting

Tax Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize effective tax rate (ETR) and manage global cash taxes
  • Lead global transfer pricing strategy, including documentation, modeling, and intercompany agreements
  • Support tax planning related to capital investments, restructuring, and cross-border transactions

Transfer Pricing & International Tax

  • Oversee and defend transfer pricing policies across global operations involving tangible goods and services
  • Ensure compliance with OECD guidelines and global documentation requirements
  • Support intercompany transaction structuring and analysis

Risk Management & Audits

  • Manage tax audits and examinations with domestic and international tax authorities
  • Coordinate responses and defense strategies with internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Monitor global tax law changes (e.g., BEPS, Pillar Two) and assess impacts on the organization

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members and/or direct reports
  • Establish performance expectations and support team development
  • Drive process improvements within the tax function to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Partner cross-functionally with finance leadership and business stakeholders

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in a corporate, manufacturing, or public accounting environment (Big 4 preferred)
  • Strong expertise in ASC 740 (tax provision) and transfer pricing
  • Experience with U.S. federal/state and international tax matters

Preferred:

  • CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation
  • Experience supporting multinational operations

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and international tax laws (including GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits)
  • Familiarity with global tax reform initiatives (BEPS, Pillar Two)
  • Advanced tax modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Experience with tax software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Excel

Leadership & Communication

  • Strong ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven experience managing audits and defending tax positions
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Ability to lead initiatives and influence decisions across the organization
