Position Summary

A growing multi‑entity organization is seeking an experienced Income Tax Manager to lead corporate income tax compliance, oversee tax provision processes, and manage audit activity. This role is ideal for a technically strong tax professional who enjoys both hands‑on compliance work and strategic problem‑solving. The successful candidate will directly influence the accuracy of financial reporting and help drive tax‑efficient decision‑making across the business.


Key Responsibilities

Income & Property Tax Compliance

  • Oversee preparation and timely filing of corporate income tax returns, quarterly estimates, annual extensions, and related account reconciliations.
  • Manage property tax compliance, coordinating with external advisors, ensuring accurate filings, payments, assessment reviews, and monthly reconciliations.

Provision, Reporting & Analytics

  • Lead the quarterly and annual income tax provision process.
  • Draft tax-related disclosures for 10-K and 10-Q filings.
  • Manage tax depreciation calculations, related analytics, and effective tax rate monitoring.

Audit Management

  • Serve as lead for income and franchise tax audits from initiation through resolution.
  • Develop clear, well-supported positions and communicate effectively with auditors.
  • Apply creative problem‑solving when standard approaches need refinement.

Governance, Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls in alignment with SOX requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to long-term tax planning.
  • Stay current on legislative changes and maintain technical tax expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of corporate income tax or equivalent public accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA (active or in progress).
  • Experience preparing federal and multi‑state corporate tax returns.
  • Familiarity with tax provision and compliance software.
  • Background managing income and franchise tax audits.
