Senior International Tax Manager
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, International Tax is responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and management of international tax compliance and planning activities. This role ensures adherence to U.S. tax regulations, supports strategic tax initiatives, and leads a team of tax professionals in delivering high-quality results. The position requires deep expertise in international tax matters, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to process improvement and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
International Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation and review of U.S. international tax forms, including Forms 1118, 5471, 5713, 8858, 8890, 8991, 8992, 8993, and BEPS Country-by-Country (CbC) reporting.
- Manage responses to income tax audit inquiries from domestic and international taxing authorities.
Transfer Pricing & Tax Planning
- Monitor and maintain transfer pricing policies and ensure proper documentation.
- Support tax planning efforts related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Tax Director to provide guidance on corporate income tax matters across the organization.
Financial Reporting & Integration
- Lead or review tax-related aspects of post-acquisition integration, including ASC 805 tax entries and Form 8594 completion.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and manage internal audit responses related to tax.
Process Improvement & Legislative Monitoring
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and quality of tax processes and systems.
- Interpret tax laws and regulations, monitor legislative developments, and advise management on potential impacts and tax-saving opportunities.
Project Management
- Lead and manage special tax-related projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required to support the tax function.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee the work of tax team members, including planning, assigning, and reviewing tasks to ensure high-quality output.
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development of staff.
- Administer corrective actions and manage team performance in alignment with organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (Masters and CPA a plus).
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant income tax experience in public accounting or within a large multinational corporate tax department.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing teams and projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with OneSource Income Tax and Provision software.
- Experience using tax research platforms such as Bloomberg, CCH, or Checkpoint.
- Familiarity with BNA Fixed Asset software.
