I am working with a top international accounting practice to build out their strong and growing advisory function.

The team delivers commercially focused advisory support across a wide range of assignments, helping organisations navigate complexity, manage risk, and deliver improvement across their finance and reporting functions. They are looking to strengthen their offering with an Assistant Manager hire to be based out of the Southampton office.

Joining this environment offers exposure to complex financial operations and high-profile projects, alongside working with experienced professionals from various service lines to create an environment of technical excellence and commercial insight in which you can develop.

The Role

This opportunity sits within a fast-growing Financial Reporting team that forms part of the wider Advisory practice. The team specialises in the delivery of statutory financial reporting and associated advisory services, primarily supporting UK-based and multinational groups with complex reporting requirements.

The role offers a blend of technical delivery, project leadership, and client interaction. Working within a modern, collaborative office environment, you will play a key role in the ongoing development of the Financial Reporting function while continuing to build your own technical depth and leadership capability.

The team works with a broad client base and delivers financial statements under both UK GAAP and IFRS.

Responsibilities

– Lead and deliver complex financial reporting assignments, including group consolidations and multi-entity structures

– Prepare and review statutory financial statements under FRS 102 and IFRS for large and complex groups, including first-time adopters

– Manage assignments involving technically challenging accounting areas such as share-based payments, financial instruments, and fair value measurements

– Take primary responsibility for client-facing delivery, responding to technical queries and building trusted relationships

– Coordinate project workflows, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met

– Support the wider Advisory team by identifying opportunities to enhance client delivery and identify cross-selling opportunities

Requirements

– ACA qualified or equivalent

– Strong working knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 101, and IFRS, with US GAAP knowledge as a plus

– Hands-on experience preparing complex statutory accounts, consolidations, and cash flow statements

– Practical application of IFRS in a professional services environment

– Proven experience leading client engagements or project teams
