Alternative Investment Funds Tax AD
Associate Director – Alternative Investment Funds & Private Equity Advisory
London | Hybrid & Flexible Working | Market‑Leading Salary + Significant Bonus
Are you looking to accelerate your career in a role that truly gives you breadth, ownership, and direct exposure to clients and partners? Our client is seeking an ambitious Associate Director to join their growing Alternative Investment Funds and Private Equity tax team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong experience in alternative investment funds, private equity, and the wider financial services sector who wants to work in a close‑knit team where you can genuinely make an impact.
The Role
As part of a specialist but collaborative team, you will work across a diverse portfolio of fund managers, investment platforms, and private equity clients. The work spans all asset classes and all sizes of business – giving you exposure across the full spectrum of the financial services market.
The role offers a mix of compliance and advisory work, and the team is genuinely flexible about the balance. You can shape the role around your interests and strengths.
You’ll be involved in:
- Advising alternative investment funds and private equity houses on a broad range of tax matters
- Delivering high‑quality UK tax compliance reviews for fund structures, managers, and related entities
- Working on structuring, transactions, carried interest, partnership tax matters, and cross‑border issues
- Supporting advisory projects including fund launches, restructures, due diligence and commercial transactions
- Managing a portfolio of clients while mentoring junior team members
Because the team is relatively small, you will work closely with the partners, gaining real visibility and the chance to influence both client work and team development. You’ll also have significant direct client contact from day one.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who has:
- Strong experience working with alternative investment funds, private equity or financial services clients
- A background in a Top 10 accountancy firm (or similar environment)
- The ability to manage both advisory projects and compliance delivery
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A collaborative working style and the confidence to engage directly with senior stakeholders
You will ideally be:
- CTA and/or ACA qualified, with experience working in practice
- Comfortable working with complex partnership structures, fund vehicles or financial services clients
Why Join?
- Market‑leading salaries
- Significant annual bonus
- Flexible and hybrid working
- Broad exposure across all asset classes – no siloing
- A varied role with autonomy and room to develop
- Regular, direct interaction with partners and major clients
- A friendly, supportive team where your contribution is visible and valued
This is the perfect next step for someone who enjoys both the technical and commercial side of tax, wants variety in their work, and is ready to push their career forward in a firm that invests in its people.
