Important fraud alert: phishing scam impersonating Brewer Morris
We’ve been made aware of a sophisticated phishing scam in which individuals are falsely claiming to represent Brewer Morris. This activity is entirely unaffiliated with our firm, and we are taking steps to address the issue.

What’s happening
Scammers are contacting people pretending to work for Brewer Morris and offering fraudulent job opportunities. They are doing this via channels including WhatsApp, email, telephone and LinkedIn InMail.
Scammers are also posting fraudulent job advertisements on third-party websites.
People who respond to these messages or adverts are then contacted and taken through a fake interview process. After falsely informing candidates that they have been successful, the scammer requests:
- Personal identification documents, including passport details
- Bank account information, under the pretext of a reimbursement policy
- Copies of bills or other personal documents
How to recognise a scam
All legitimate email communication from our consultants will come from an official @brewermorris.com email address.
We do sometimes communicate with candidates and other individuals using WhatsApp and LinkedIn InMail, and will often call our customers, but we will never:
- Ask for your bank details via text, WhatsApp or LinkedIn InMail
- Request payment via text, WhatsApp or LinkedIn InMail
- Request payment for our services via text, WhatsApp or LinkedIn InMail
- Demand personal information or copies of your identification documents via text, WhatsApp or LinkedIn InMail
Scammers may exhibit certain warning signs, such as poor grammar and spelling, unusual or unofficial email addresses, or insisting on urgency or immediate action. Genuine offers from Brewer Morris will always be professional, clear and provide ample time for consideration.
