Vice President of Tax
About the Opportunity
A growing organization is seeking a Vice President of Tax to lead its tax function and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This role offers the opportunity to oversee complex tax matters, support business initiatives, and help drive the continued evolution of the finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead tax planning, compliance, reporting, and audit activities
- Develop and execute tax strategies aligned with business objectives
- Oversee federal, state, and local tax matters
- Support acquisitions, transactions, and other strategic initiatives
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and executive leadership
- Build and develop talent within the tax function
- Drive process improvements, controls, and operational efficiencies
- Manage external advisors and key stakeholder relationships
- Advise leadership on tax risk, planning opportunities, and regulatory developments
Qualifications
- Progressive experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination of both
- Experience leading tax projects, initiatives, or teams
- Knowledge of tax compliance, reporting, and planning concepts
- Exposure to transactions, acquisitions, or other strategic business activities preferred
- Experience working within a complex business environment preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
- CPA or advanced tax/accounting credentials are a plus
