Manager – Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting (Global Professional Services Firm)
Location: London/ Belfast / Edinburgh/ Newcastle
We are supporting a leading global professional services organisation in the continued expansion of its Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting team. This is a strategic role within a high‑growth team responsible for multi‑jurisdictional tax accounting, reporting and compliance for large, complex multinational clients.

The Opportunity
As a Manager in the Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting team, you will lead multi-country engagements across US GAAP and IFRS, managing group tax accounting, reporting cycles, and process improvements. You’ll work alongside senior tax leaders and international teams, playing a key role in modernising tax reporting frameworks and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across global operations.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee interim, quarterly, and year‑end global tax provisions under IFRS and US GAAP.
- Review reporting submissions from controllers and in‑country tax teams.
- Support preparation of IFRS and US GAAP disclosures, including GAAP reconciliation work.
- Maintain tax provision documentation and support SOX and internal control frameworks.
- Act as a key client contact, building trust and managing stakeholder communication.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Lead process enhancements across global tax provision and compliance workflows.
- Coordinate tax account reconciliations and schedules.
- Monitor the impact of new standards (e.g., BEPS Pillar Two) and regulatory changes.
- Drive standardisation of group tax reporting processes across jurisdictions.
- Manage engagement budgets, resources, and delivery timelines.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Support tax reporting aspects of M&A transactions.
- Mentor and develop junior staff; provide coaching and performance feedback.
- Manage onshore and offshore teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Serve as a point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong experience in tax accounting under US GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Solid understanding of ASC 740 and/or IAS 12.
- Experience managing teams and multi-country tax engagements.
- Excellent communication and ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Professional qualification (ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/CPA or equivalent).
- Strong Excel and tax technology skills.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement, manage budgets, and deliver under tight deadlines.
