Tax Compliance and Reporting Specialist
We are working with a leading international insurance group seeking a Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager to join its established tax team.
This is a broad, hands-on role focused on corporate tax compliance and tax reporting across the UK and wider EMEA region. The position offers significant exposure to international tax matters, tax accounting, process improvement initiatives and the application of technology to enhance tax operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with finance teams, external advisers and tax colleagues across multiple jurisdictions, helping to ensure accurate and timely reporting while driving improvements in controls, governance and efficiency.
This role does not have line management responsibility and would suit an experienced tax professional who enjoys taking ownership of compliance and reporting processes while contributing to wider tax projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation, review and submission of UK and international corporate tax returns and related statutory filings across EMEA.
- Prepare and review tax computations, reconciliations and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with local regulations and group reporting requirements.
- Support the year-end tax accounting process, including tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and reporting under group accounting standards.
- Maintain robust reconciliation and control processes between tax, statutory and management reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing tax compliance processes, controls and reporting frameworks.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of technology and automation solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy within the tax function.
- Provide technical support on UK and international corporate tax matters, tax risk assessments and transactional queries.
- Liaise with external advisers on compliance, reporting and advisory matters, reviewing work to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Assist with tax audits and enquiries, preparing supporting documentation and coordinating responses to tax authorities.
- Produce management information and reporting on tax compliance, exposures and key tax matters for senior stakeholders.
- Build effective relationships across finance and other business functions to support tax governance and awareness.
Requirements
- Professional accounting or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
- Strong corporate tax experience gained within the insurance sector or wider financial services market.
- Experience of corporate tax compliance and tax reporting for international groups.
- Proven tax accounting experience, including year-end reporting and tax provisions.
- Solid knowledge of UK corporation tax compliance requirements.
- Ability to work with stakeholders across finance, tax and external advisory teams.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements within a tax function.
- Exposure to multinational or cross-border tax environments.
- Previous experience of tax compliance relating to Lloyd’s syndicates is beneficial but not essential.
The role offers a flexible hybrid working model, with two office days per week in London, alongside the opportunity to join a highly regarded tax team within a complex and international business.
