I am working with a growing advisory-led accountancy firm that is expanding its client-facing team with an experienced Senior Client Advisor. This role sits at the heart of the firm’s owner-managed business offering and is designed for someone who thrives on strategic conversations rather than technical delivery. You will work closely with a portfolio of established private businesses, acting as a trusted commercial sounding board and helping owners make better-informed decisions about performance, growth, and long-term value.

This position is based in Coventry and offers the opportunity to work in a progressive, relationship-driven environment. You will be supported by dedicated operational and compliance teams, allowing you to focus entirely on client outcomes, portfolio growth, and high-quality advisory work. The firm is investing heavily in its people and offers a clear platform for progression and long-term career development.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, acting as the primary commercial adviser
  • Lead regular strategic review meetings, challenging performance and shaping future direction
  • Translate financial information into clear, actionable commercial recommendations
  • Support clients with high-impact decisions around growth, structure, investment, and profitability
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships and grow your portfolio through value-led conversations
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members through coaching and mentoring

Requirements:

  • Experience advising or working closely with businesses of meaningful scale (£3m+ turnover)
  • Strong commercial finance background, gained in practice or industry
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations and forming a clear point of view
  • Ability to build credibility with business owners and senior stakeholders
  • Broad understanding of business taxation and financial reporting (without being compliance-focused)
  • ACA/ACCA qualification beneficial but not essential

This role will suit someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and influence, and who measures success by the outcomes they help clients achieve rather than the volume of technical work completed.
