The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join a growing private client team. This role offers a strong grounding in both compliance and advisory work, making it ideal for a technically strong tax professional looking to step up their responsibility and exposure.

You will work with a varied portfolio including high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, families, trusts, and internationally mobile clients, while supporting senior team members on more complex advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, taking responsibility for day-to-day delivery

· Prepare and review personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across compliance cycles

· Support on advisory projects across income tax, CGT, inheritance tax, and residence matters

· Assist with specialist areas such as EIS/SEIS, EMI, employment-related securities, and P11Ds

· Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact on day-to-day matters

· Liaise with HMRC and third parties on behalf of clients

· Work closely with Managers and Partners on more complex assignments and planning work

· Support and delegate work to junior team members, assisting in their development

· Undertake technical research and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

Candidate Profile

· CTA qualified (or equivalent)

· Strong experience in personal tax within a professional services environment

· Good technical grounding across personal tax, with exposure to advisory work

· Experience managing compliance processes for HNW/UHNW clients

· Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills

· Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

· A proactive and collaborative team player, keen to develop and progress

· Experience supporting and reviewing junior staff is advantageous
