Job Description: We are seeking a highly technical and driven Tax Lead, International to join our Global Tax Reporting group. This role involves managing international (excluding US and Canada) tax compliance and income tax accounting for a complex multi-national organization. The successful candidate will likely already be operating as a Senior Tax Manager and will report to the Tax Partner, Global Tax Reporting.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Lead tax provisioning and compliance internationally (excluding US and Canada), including acting as consolidation lead.
  • Own all tax accounting issues related to goodwill, intangibles, VAs, acquisitions, and disposals, and respond to auditors’ queries.
  • Manage the timely and controlled preparation of tax returns for all Finastra’s international entities (excluding US and Canada).
  • Collaborate with the Tax Lead, APAC, local finance managers, and outsourced service providers to mitigate risks and optimize tax positions.
  • Provide metric-driven confidence on the governance and efficiencies of the region’s tax reporting and compliance.
  • Drive improvements in ETR forecasting, model the impact of changes, and enhance insights and analytics to support decision-making.
  • Handle enquiries with tax authorities internationally, working collaboratively with local finance managers and other team members.
  • Support various tax initiatives, including transfer pricing, restructuring, legal entity rationalization, and advice on contracts and projects.
  • Direct and review work performed by Senior Tax Analysts and support their ongoing career development.

Required Experience

  • CPA/chartered accountant or chartered tax advisor.
  • 8+ years of experience in leading international consolidated tax reporting and compliance for a global multi-national organization with a history of M&A.
  • Exceptional ASC740 technical tax accounting expertise, including purchase accounting.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive complex transformations involving cross-functional teams.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and oral presentation skills, including creativity in presentation materials.
  • Ability to develop and drive process improvements across global taxes, including developing a global tax controls framework and monitoring metrics.
  • Leads by example, striving to innovate, introducing best practices, and championing control standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills and an understanding of end-to-end tax processes and systems.
