international Tax Planning Senior Manager
THE ROLE
A long-established American chemical company is looking for an International Tax Planning and Policy Senior Manager to join their team in Columbia, MD
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tax Planning & Strategy – Oversees global tax planning to align with business goals and implement strategies that optimize the company’s effective and cash tax rates, both short- and long-term.
- Legislation & Policy Monitoring – Monitors evolving tax laws and reporting requirements in the U.S. and internationally to ensure compliance, uncover planning opportunities, and manage risk; proactively tracks legislative developments from proposal through enactment.
- Tax Risk Oversight – Directs the management of tax-related risks in collaboration with business leaders, the VP of Tax, and senior management; serves as the primary contact for global tax controversy matters, working closely with regional controllers.
- Business Partnership – Builds and leads strategic relationships with business unit leaders to support tax-related decision-making and initiatives.
- Product Flow Optimization – Guides the strategic structuring of intercompany transactions to reduce Subpart F and GILTI exposure, ensuring adherence to transfer pricing policies.
- Treasury Collaboration – Works with the Treasury team to develop and execute tax-efficient strategies for cash management and financing.
- Mergers & Acquisitions – Leads tax due diligence and addresses key tax considerations in mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations, coordinating with relevant stakeholders throughout the process.
- Technical Research & Advisory – Conducts in-depth research and provides guidance on complex tax technical issues.
- Income Tax Accounting – Supports the VP of Tax and Senior Manager of Global Tax Operations in global tax compliance, quarterly and annual tax provisions, and internal controls.
