The client base is broad and includes large corporates, multinational groups, consumer-facing businesses and other major organisations across a range of sectors.

The role

You will:

  • Provide high-quality advice across a broad range of VAT and indirect tax issues, with a strong emphasis on advisory work.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key clients, becoming a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders.
  • Work on complex and often commercially significant projects, developing practical solutions to clients’ tax issues.
  • Identify opportunities to broaden existing relationships and win new work.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and proposals.
  • Work collaboratively with specialists across complementary tax and advisory disciplines.
  • Manage, coach and develop junior members of the team, supporting both their technical and commercial development.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, providing strong exposure to decision-makers and opportunities to build your profile internally and externally.

About you

You will ideally have:

  • Strong experience within VAT / Indirect Tax, gained within professional services, industry or another relevant environment.
  • ACA, CTA, legal qualification or equivalent experience.
  • A strong technical grounding combined with the ability to provide practical, commercially focused advice.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering work to a high standard.
  • An interest in business development and developing your own network and market profile.
  • The ability to coach and develop more junior colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior client stakeholders.

Why consider this opportunity?

This would particularly suit someone looking for a role where they can combine high-quality technical work with greater client ownership, commercial exposure and career progression.

You will join an established team with significant expertise around you, while still having the opportunity to build your own profile and areas of specialism. There is plenty of scope to take on more responsibility as you develop, making it an attractive move for someone ambitious about progressing their career within Indirect Tax.
