  • Working closely with budget holders to understand expenditure trends and provide meaningful cost analysis.
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning activities.
  • Reviewing working capital metrics, provisions and other key financial indicators to support effective cash and performance management.
  • Supporting VAT compliance and wider financial governance requirements.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight around profitability, business performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Contributing to ongoing process improvement projects and helping strengthen the firm’s finance function.
  • Providing technical accounting support, including the assessment of new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Supporting the Finance Director with a range of commercial and operational finance projects.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts within a medium or large organisation.
  • A solid grounding in financial reporting, financial controls and balance sheet management.
  • Significant exposure to year-end processes, statutory accounts and external audits.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
  • The ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach with excellent organisational skills.
