About the Job

My client, a global fintech and payments business, is looking for a European Tax Manager to join its Luxembourg office. Reporting to the Global Head of Direct Tax, this role will act as the key tax contact for Europe and take ownership of corporate income tax compliance and tax accounting activities across multiple European jurisdictions.

This is a hands-on and operational role with a strong focus on European corporate tax compliance, tax provisioning, audit support, and process improvement. You will work closely with finance, controllership, external advisors, and the global tax team to ensure compliance while driving standardisation, automation, and enhanced tax governance across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate corporate income tax (CIT) compliance activities across European jurisdictions

Manage quarterly and annual tax provisioning processes under US GAAP, IFRS, and local reporting requirements

Review and validate current and deferred tax calculations

Monitor tax filings, payments, and statutory deadlines across multiple countries

Coordinate and support tax audits, responding to requests from authorities and advisors

Partner with finance, accounting, and controllership teams to ensure accurate tax reporting

Drive tax process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardisation projects

Strengthen tax controls, governance frameworks, and compliance procedures

Support international tax planning, forecasting, transfer pricing, and cross-border projects alongside the global tax team

Serve as the primary tax contact for European stakeholders

Mentor and support junior team members within the broader tax function

About You

Have at least 6 years of experience in corporate tax

Possess strong European corporate income tax compliance experience across multiple jurisdictions

Have experience with tax accounting, including current and deferred taxes

Have supported tax audits and managed relationships with external advisors

Demonstrate knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, Luxembourg GAAP, and deferred tax accounting principles

Enjoy driving process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies

Are a proactive self-starter who can identify issues and propose practical solutions

Have professional fluency in English; additional European languages are considered an advantage
