Are you an experienced Employment Tax professional ready to take the next step in your career?

I am partnering with a highly respected professional services firm looking to appoint an Employment Tax Senior Manager/Director to support the continued growth of its Employment Tax and Global Mobility offering. This opportunity would be particularly well suited to an existing Senior Manager looking for a clear path to Director or an established Senior Manager ready for their first Director role within a collaborative and growing team.

Working alongside Partners and senior specialists, you’ll advise a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of sectors, helping them navigate increasingly complex employment tax legislation whilst delivering practical, commercially focused solutions. The role sits within a wider employer services offering, providing exposure to payroll, HR, immigration and global mobility matters, and allowing you to deliver joined-up advice across the full employee lifecycle.

This is a highly client-facing position that combines technical advisory work, team leadership and business development. You’ll play an important role in strengthening client relationships, supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to the future growth of the practice.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on all aspects of employment tax, including employment status, PAYE obligations, National Insurance contributions and temporary workplace relief
  • Undertaking PAYE health checks and supporting clients through HMRC enquiries and reviews
  • Advising on P11Ds, PAYE Settlement Agreements and Short-Term Business Visitor reporting
  • Supporting overseas tax and global mobility matters through collaboration with international specialists
  • Reviewing expatriate tax returns and payroll computations
  • Advising on employee share schemes, including HMRC reporting requirements
  • Providing technical support to payroll teams and wider stakeholders
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting business development activity and identifying opportunities for growth within existing and prospective clients

About You

You will ideally have:

  • CTA qualification with strong employment tax advisory and compliance experience
  • Excellent technical knowledge across employment taxes, including PAYE, benefits, compliance and HMRC processes
  • Exposure to global mobility, expatriate taxation, share schemes and personal tax matters
  • Experience managing HMRC enquiries and reviews
  • A sound understanding of payroll operations
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and commercially
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with an interest in helping grow a successful team

Experience working with charities or not-for-profit organisations would be advantageous, but is not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Employment Tax Senior Manager seeking a platform to accelerate their career within a growing and highly respected practice.
