As Vice President of Regulatory Management within Capital Management, you will lead the engagement with the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), overseeing responses to feedback on capital submissions. You will contribute to shaping and sustaining the standards and policies that form the foundation of capital management, driving continuous improvement and embedding best practices throughout the function.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a capital-focused role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across the business.
  • A solid understanding of regulatory requirements and experience implementing them in practice.

You may be assessed on critical skills essential for success in this role, including risk and controls, strategic thinking, change and transformation, business acumen, and digital and technology capabilities, alongside technical expertise in capital management.

Purpose of the Role

To optimise the bank’s capital structure in support of its growth strategy, manage risk exposure, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This involves analysing the bank’s capital position, developing capital allocation strategies, and maintaining adequate capital levels under various economic scenarios.

Core Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to manage the bank’s capital position, including setting capital targets, creating capital plans, and monitoring capital adequacy.
  • Optimise the capital structure to support growth and profitability while managing exposure to regulatory capital requirements.
  • Allocate capital to business units and projects based on risk-adjusted returns and other financial metrics.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on capital position, allocation decisions, and stress testing outcomes to senior leadership, risk committees, and regulators.
  • Communicate capital management strategies and associated risks effectively to key stakeholders.
