Interim Fund Controller – Private Credit

London – Hybrid

£600 – £700p/day (DOE) – Umbrella

A leading, global investment firm is seeking a seasoned Fund Controller to join their team on a contract basis. This is a high-impact contract role offering exposure to complex fund structures, senior stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to shape operational best practices within a dynamic finance team.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of private credit funds and segregated mandates, working closely with third-party administrators, portfolio managers, and investment teams. The role offers exposure to complex fund structures, multi-currency operations, and high-level stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of fund operations, including investor transactions, cash movements, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee third-party administrators and ensure accuracy across NAVs, capital statements, and performance metrics.
  • Lead the preparation and review of investor reporting packs and support audit processes.
  • Monitor fund liquidity and credit facility activity, ensuring compliance with covenants and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to facilitate deal funding and ensure accurate transaction processing.
  • Drive improvements in reporting tools, controls, and oversight frameworks.
  • Support regulatory and compliance reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to new fund launches and onboarding processes.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, ideally trained in a Big 4/top 10 firm.
  • Extensive post-qualification in fund finance, fund accounting, or fund audit.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead a small team
  • Strong experience in private credit, infrastructure debt, and multi-currency equalisation.
  • Skilled in Excel and Power BI
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
