Accounts Senior Manager

The Role
The team is seeking a qualified Senior Manager with experience gained in a UK practice environment. The role sits within an outsourced accounting function and combines hands-on technical work with portfolio management, leadership responsibility, and oversight of large and complex client engagements.
The service offering includes:
– Preparation and review of statutory financial statements (SFS), bookkeeping and management accounts
– Delivery of outsourced accounting support, including provision of experienced finance professionals on interim or secondment assignments
– Coordination, management and control of local statutory accounting and reporting for clients with cross-border operations and financial reporting requirements
– Supporting and advising clients on statutory accounting compliance requirements and improvements to the SFS cycle, including production, audit and filing processes
– Leading accounting projects, including investigation, data gathering and analysis to ensure the accuracy and robustness of statutory financial statements, particularly for multi-national and multi-entity organisations
– Managing the delivery of statutory compliance processes for multi-entity, global organisations
Responsibilities
– Manage a portfolio of clients and oversee the delivery of outsourced accounting engagements to a high technical and professional standard
– Lead and manage large and complex accounting and finance projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and quality standards
– Act as a senior point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and advising on accounting, reporting and compliance matters
– Review statutory accounts and related outputs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements
– Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, and the overall efficiency of the SFS cycle
– Lead, supervise, and develop team members, providing coaching and support within a collaborative team environment
– Manage and coordinate teams across engagements, demonstrating flexibility in changing client environments
Requirements
– ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. CA, ATT, CTA or international equivalent)
– Strong accounting skills and technical knowledge on financial reporting matters, including the ability to work from first principles
– Very good working knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS, with awareness of US GAAP
– Proven ability to manage teams and deliver large and complex finance and accounting projects
– Experience managing client portfolios and leading multi-client engagements
– IT literate, with experience of accounting systems and very strong Excel skills
– Highly professional and delivery-focused approach, with the ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment
– Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills
– Strong leadership capability, with the ability to develop, coach and mentor staff
