Senior Tax Manager
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior US Tax Manager to join our tax team to support our growing business – this role represents a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing US listed Group, with exposure to a broad range of tax matters. The role will be based in the US, report directly to the Head of Tax and will require a high level of interaction with the wider finance team, commercial team and advisors.
This role will oversee all US tax matters for the Group – the ideal candidate will have experience in US GAAP reporting, compliance and advisory across all taxes (including Sales Tax), in a US listed environment. Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will oversee all US tax matters for the Group. Responsibilities will include:
- Tax Reporting – management of the Group’s quarterly US GAAP tax reporting process
- Tax Compliance & Audits – co-ordination of tax compliance for all US taxes and management of tax audits, ensuring we are compliant across all taxes in the US
- Tax Advisory – support the business in all tax matters including new products/new states
- Tax Processes – lead the charge on improving processes to support the US compliance and reporting processes, including automation where possible to support the growing business which is set to scale
- Tax Projects – support the Head of Tax with strategic tax projects
Required Skills
- CPA qualified, with a minimum of 6 years post qualification experience in reporting, compliance and advisory
- Existing experience in an inhouse role for a minimum of two years is preferred in addition to working in a large accountancy firm
- Strong technical knowledge – US tax technical, US GAAP and international rules including GILTI, BEAT and subpart F
- Practical experience in consolidated tax provisions and managing tax compliance across all US taxes (including Sales Tax)
- Self starter who can effectively operate both independently with a minimum level of supervision and within a team environment
- Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills with an ability to communicate tax issues to non-tax audiences and a desire to build relationships cross functionally
- Advanced proficiency in excel and experience with tax technology solutions
