Responsabilities

  • Lead and manage the tax matters and consequences related to mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”)
  • Provide tax diligence and structuring advice to internal stakeholders
  • Research complex tax issues
  • Draft and communicate findings effectively, efficiently and timely
  • Identify issues and recommend creative solutions to complex issues within M&A related arenas
  • Coordinate and provide support services to Corporate and Business Development teams through collaborative, timely and insightful advice and recommendations
  • Ensure tax consequences and risks associated with projects under consideration are assessed and adequately communicated
  • Actively pursue optimal alternatives to projects under consideration for evaluation
  • Provide tax leadership on transactional and project teams ensuring the transaction is understood and that all tax consequences, positions, and risks are adequately identified, documented and in line with the risk tolerance of the business
  • Ensure adequate due diligence, review of legal documents, and execution of the project
  • Seek appropriate external advice as needed, ensuring facts are complete, accurate and that the advice is consistent with internal policies and risk tolerance levels
  • Provide ad hoc tax advice and input into various organizational initiatives
  • Review and provide tax inputs for corporate modeling related to M&A transactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with broad industry experience in taxation (including a minimum of 2 years working in M&A taxation)
  • Experience working effectively with cross functional teams and tax advisors
  • CPA designation
  • Proven team player with solid interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment and apply critical decision making with constantly shifting priorities while delivering high quality customer service to internal stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills that allow the candidate to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Results-oriented with strong identification and initiation of continuous improvement opportunities and the ability to manage change
  • Accountable to meet commitments while consistently delivering results within required timelines
