The Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager or Senior Manager/Associate Director to join the Private Companies business tax team in London. This role focuses on advising privately owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and family offices on a wide range of tax matters. You will work with clients across sectors such as technology, media, retail, leisure, and business services, providing strategic tax advice throughout their lifecycle – from growth and international expansion to M&A and exit events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage client engagements, delivering high-quality tax advisory and compliance services.
  • Advise on complex projects including international expansion, acquisitions, IPOs, and group reorganisations.
  • Coordinate input from specialists across indirect taxes, employment taxes, and incentives.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and identify opportunities for growth.

Candidate Profile

  • ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) with significant experience in UK corporate tax.
  • Background in compliance, advisory, or transactions within a professional services environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to manage complex tax projects.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Commercially astute with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
