We are partnered with one of the leaders in the design, manufacture, and sale of packaging products and equipment for consumer and industrial products. As a Tax Compliance Director, you will be responsible for leading preparation of complex tax filings, managing strategic tax initiatives, maintaining accurate tax accounting records, and audit defense support.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Lead preparation and review of federal consolidated Form 1120 and multi-state income tax returns using CORPTAX, including extensions and estimated payments.
  • Manage tax depreciation reconciliations and complete Forms 4562, 4626, and 4797, along with all book-to-tax adjustments.
  • Compute state apportionment, assess nexus, and apply required state tax modifications.
  • Maintain federal deferred tax inventory and permanent adjustments.
  • Calculate and review year-end tax provision inputs, including NOL/V&A analysis, FIN 48, state ETR, and deferred tax adjustments.
  • Lead efforts in responding to and managing IRS and state tax audits.
  • Tax Planning – Oversee domestic and state tax implications related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Stay current on changes in federal and state tax legislation and assess their impact.
  • Tax Accounting – Maintain records of federal deferred tax assets/liabilities and permanent differences (e.g., M&A), calculate provision-to-return adjustments, prepare year-end tax provision components.

What They’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years of public accounting and/or relevant industry tax experience
  • Knowledge of ASC 740
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • CPA certification and/or Master’s degree is preferred
  • CORPTAX experience is required
  • Experience with AS400, Onstream, and Alteryx is a plus
