A leading people-first professional services firm are looking for a confident and commercially- minded Senior Credit Controller to take the reins of their credit control function.

This is a role where you can lead, include and drive meaningful change as the go-to expert for all things WIP and debt recovering, working closely with senior stakeholders to improve cash flow and looking after one direct report: bringing structure and energy to the credit control function.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Take full ownership of the debt recovery cycle, ensuring overdue balances are chased efficiently and professionally.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline systems and embed best practices, helping to shift the culture around billing and collections.
  • Lead regular WIP reviews with client-facing teams, encouraging proactive billing and helping reduce aged debt.Produce insightful reports and dashboards for senior management, turning data into action.
  • Manage and mentor the Credit Controller, setting clear goals, supporting development, and ensuring consistency across the function.
  • Liaise with cashiers and finance colleagues to ensure compliance and accurate financial records.
  • Oversee the partnership with the debt collection agency, ensuring escalations are handled effectively and performance is monitored.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in credit control within a professional services environment.
  • Confidence managing high-value, complex ledgers and navigating sensitive client conversations.
  • A natural ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring team members.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ideally other ERP systems
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
