I am working with a boutique mid-tier firm based out of West London. They specialise across the mid-market sector, servicing clients across a range of sectors mostly within the SME and OMB scale. They do also have some larger clients who are multinationals or even AIM listed, providing you with diverse client experience.

The team are big on collaboration and internal development. There is a strong training and development program, opportunities to progress, and a supportive team happy to share their expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to immerse themselves in audit engagements across a range of industries, developing their knowledge and overall skillset with a view to progress their career within the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand audit assignment budgets and objectives to assist with planning and pre-assignment discussions, including gathering any required background information
  • Execute audit engagements to the high technical standard set across the firm, being adaptable and solution oriented as needed
  • Part of this will include the preparation and review of financial statements, tax computations, and maintaining time budgets and confidentiality
  • Reporting and following up at the tail end of the Audit process, overall taking active engagement across all process stages, whether in an undertaking or overseeing capacity
  • Take active involvement with delegation of work, training juniors, and reviewing work
  • Work collaboratively with your own team and across other departments

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, particularly FRS 102 and UK GAAP more generally
  • Demonstrable experience gained in a UK-based accounting practice
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Strong self-starter driven by personal and career development
