Brewer Morris are working with a global leader in the telecommunications industry to appoint a newly created Indirect Tax Manager position.
The role requires a qualified Indirect Tax professional to join the team, reporting directly to the Global Tax Director and collaborating closely with key senior stakeholders. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a globally recognised business and their continuous growth ambitions.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing global indirect tax issues and systems, with a focus on UK and local VAT, invoicing systems, and supporting the development and local implementation of the operating model across key countries and sectors.
- Managing outsourced compliance and external advisers whilst coordinating with wider accounting teams.
- Liaising with statutory auditors on tax-related issues when necessary.
- Cultivating relationships with UK tax authorities and managing global indirect tax audits in close collaboration with external advisors and colleagues.
- Providing support, analysis and advice on indirect tax matters and legislative changes that may impact the business or financial statements.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of relevant tax experience either inhouse or from a practice firm.
- Prior experience in the telecoms or digital sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Substantial experience managing external advisors and liaising with senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in UK Indirect and International Tax matters at an advanced technical level, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly.
- Strong familiarity with various UK indirect tax issues, including those related to property, healthcare, or other exempt businesses.
- Experience in Tax controversy resolution, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.
- Sound knowledge of Transfer Pricing and Inter-company charging arrangements, particularly for cross-border transactions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, executives, and teams in a diverse, global, and entrepreneurial setting.
- Must be able to be in the office 4 days a week
