EMEA Indirect Tax Analyst
I’m working exclusively with a FTSE listed global leader, supporting them on a key hire within their high-performing Indirect Tax function. With an international footprint spanning multiple countries, they’re a major player and Indirect Tax plays a crucial role in ensuring that global operations remain fully compliant and commercially agile.
The EMEA Indirect Tax team sits within a broader global function and is responsible for managing VAT returns annually, supporting business-led change, platform reporting, and the tax impact of global transactions. They’re collaborative, technical, and well-respected internally. The right person will thrive in a team that balances compliance with genuine value-add.
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Indirect Tax Analyst to take ownership of EMEA compliance while also getting involved in business partnering, system change projects, and cross-functional problem-solving. You’ll be working closely with a global tax network, local finance teams, and outsourced partners, acting as a key contact across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit VAT returns across the EMEA region
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in coordination with local finance and shared services
- Support VAT GL reconciliations and ensure accuracy of finance processes (journals, postings, etc.)
- Liaise with the business and tax authorities on queries, audits, and process changes
- Assist with VAT system testing (SAP), especially as rules or operations change
- Deliver VAT training and support to key internal stakeholders
- Work closely with the EMEA Indirect Tax Manager on both BAU and project-based work
What They’re Looking For
- Prior experience in VAT/Indirect Tax (in-house or practice)
- Good knowledge of accounting processes and indirect tax frameworks
- Strong Excel skills
- Confident communicator – someone who can translate complex VAT issues into clear business language
- Resilience, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset
- Fluent English is essential; other European languages (German, Spanish, Italian, French) are a plus
- Professional tax/accounting qualifications (CTA / CIMA / ACA / ACCA) are preferred but not a must
This business has real scale and momentum, but what sets it apart is the quality of its people. Values-led, forward-thinking, and commercially aware, the tax function is embedded in the business and respected for its strategic input – not just its compliance. You’ll be joining a collaborative, outcomes-driven team that genuinely cares about what they do and how they work.
