Sean Tong

Sean leads The SR Group across Asia Pacific, with a specialist focus on senior human resources appointments and executive search through our sister brand Frazer Jones.

As Managing Director and a member of The SR Group Executive Committee, he plays a key role in shaping the Group’s strategy and growth across the region, bringing together its specialist brands across finance and accounting, human resources, legal, compliance and risk. Alongside leading the business, Sean remains closely involved with clients on senior HR leadership, succession and talent strategy.

He has built a strong reputation across the Asia Pacific HR community, partnering with organisations on CHRO, CPO, Head of HR and other senior people leadership appointments. His work spans multinational corporations, listed companies, private equity and portfolio businesses, financial institutions and high-growth organisations across a range of industries.

Sean’s approach is highly relationship-driven, with a particular emphasis on understanding the leadership context behind a hire rather than simply filling a position. He works closely with boards, CEOs, CHROs and senior HR leaders on executive search, succession planning, leadership pipelines and broader market intelligence.

Before moving into recruitment, Sean cut his teeth in finance at PwC, where he spent over five years working across areas including M&A and IPO-related work. That early grounding in finance gives him a strong personal connection to Brewer Morris and the markets it serves.

Sean graduated with an honours degree in accounting and finance from The University of London and is qualified as a chartered accountant. He has worked in China, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore and speaks both Mandarin and English fluently.
