About our senior finance salary guide

Businesses have experienced unprecedented change and market challenges of late. In recent years, macroeconomic events meant businesses were being asked to adapt and change at a moment’s notice. We had hoped that 2025 would signal a return to ‘normality’, but the events of the past few weeks indicate that uncertainty is the new normal.

The impact that a world-class CFO and broader finance team can have on the success of an organisation means there has been continued change in the top role and throughout teams. This includes key finance functions such as tax and treasury, where roles like Head of Tax, Tax Manager and Group Treasurer have become increasingly pivotal.
As a result, a Head of Tax salary, Tax Manager salary and Group Treasurer salary trends are being closely monitored by both employers and candidates alike.

Organisations are quick to change leadership when priorities shift. That being said, the cost caution we have seen in the market means that the extraordinary levels of hiring witnessed during 2022/2023 were not replicated in 2024. Instead, there was a notable increase in internal talent management and succession planning. However, we are already seeing a marked increase in external hiring in 2025, particularly in specialist areas such as treasury salaries, and remain convinced that businesses will press ahead with hiring activity in spite of less-than-ideal trading conditions.
