I’m partnering with a global business that is currently strengthening its tax capability. As part of this growth, my client has created a new VAT Manager role.

This position sits at the centre of VAT advisory, stakeholder engagement and process development across EMEA, with exposure to both day-to-day technical matters and longer-term automation and change projects.

The role reports into the Head of Global Indirect Tax, based in London, and will work closely with both UK and international teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a regional VAT point of contact across EMEA, covering a broad range of indirect tax matters
  • Advise on VAT implications of new services, business changes and operating or billing models
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, treasury, compliance and shared services teams on regional initiatives
  • Monitor VAT legislative developments and communicate relevant impacts internally
  • Support VAT audits, enquiries and interaction with tax authorities, working alongside external advisers where required
  • Contribute to VAT compliance, reporting and process improvement activity across the group
  • Support ERP-related VAT work, including testing, reconciliations and ongoing optimisation
  • Assist with internal controls, documentation, guidance and training materials
  • Play a role in VAT automation, digitalisation and centralisation projects across EMEA

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in indirect tax advisory, gained in practice and/or in-house
  • Exposure to international VAT and working within large, complex organisations
  • Experience engaging with ERP systems (SAP, D365, etc.) and automated VAT reporting environments
  • Confident communicator, able to explain VAT issues clearly to non-specialists
  • Commercially aware with a practical approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Interest in systems, process improvement and transformation alongside technical tax
  • Additional European language skills are advantageous but not essential
