Job Description: As a Senior Project/Development Accountant, you’ll manage and oversee the financial operations for a portfolio of multifamily development projects, supporting the full-cycle accounting, cost tracking, project management and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the full-cycle accounting process for 6+ multifamily development projects simultaneously, at various stages

· Prepare and record journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly financials, and bank reconciliations

· Track and allocate costs, infrastructure expenses, and capital expenditures to ensure accurate project time and resources

  • Collaborate with Development, Construction and Asset Management teams to oversee and manage all financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, revenue recognition, billing, invoicing, financial modelling
  • Conduct project cleanup and closeout activities, including reviewing revenue budgets, balances, unbilled projects, task allocations, and project activity, as needed
  • Prepare and present financial reports to management and ensure compliance and accuracy across development projects

Qualifications:

· Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting required

· 2-5 years of accounting experience in the construction, development, real estate industries supporting various projects

· Ideally Multifamily (residential) experience but open to residential single family homes or commercial development background too

· Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard practices

· Advanced proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, AvidXchange, and/or other systems experience such as (Yardi, Deltek, etc.)

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple project priorities under tight deadlines with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to diverse audiences
