Our client is a leading player in the agriculture industry with over 40 years of history and presence across the globe. As part of their expansion, they are looking to hire an Internal Audit Lead to be based in their headquarters of Rotterdam. This position will be part of a very international team, and support the Audit Managers/Senior Audit Managers in completing the annual audit plan with minimal supervision. There will also be plenty of opportunities for business travel do their various domestic and international locations for audit assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead medium to high complexity audits from planning to reporting
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in the effectiveness of the audit process
  • Work effectively with auditees and stakeholders at all levels to identify opportunities to add value
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate with various departments throughout the company and at all levels of the organization regarding audit findings
  • Prepare/ review audit work papers to maintain the expected quality standards in a timely manner and in alignment with audit methodology
  • Identify improvements for processes to mitigate risks, and increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Mentor less experienced staff
  • Demonstrate and share knowledge/lessons learned in key business/auditing processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar
  • Professionally qualified as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, CRMA or similar
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Internal Audit in a Big 4 or industry
  • Experience auditing complex processes, preferably in manufacturing, commodities or financial services
  • Ability to independently evaluate controls over business and financial processes
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and drive innovation
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, diverse and dynamic environment
  • Critical mindset and keen learner
  • Willing and able to travel for business purposes
