Corporate Tax Manager

London, UK

This is a role for a corporate tax specialist to work in house in the international tax team of a well known global brand. The successful candidate will support the Head of International Tax in managing the global tax affairs team.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of tax systems across territories (the client operates in approximately 30 jurisdictions)
  • Establish tax reserves in GBP and other currencies, including reconciliation and release of residual balances, and review of tax equalisation arrangements.
  • Coordinate with UK and international tax teams to consolidate overall tax reserves positions for ongoing reconciliation and release processes.
  • Continuously review and enhance existing processes to adapt to business changes and legislative developments.
  • Lead in establishing processes for reconciling tax reserves for new offices and maintain these going forward.
  • Support year-end activities including tax reserves calculations, tax equalisation calculations, and relevant tax disclosures.
  • Ensure accurate reflection of tax reserve positions in accounting systems.
  • Reconcile and maintain deferred tax control accounts.
  • Identify and recommend technology solutions for process efficiency improvements.
  • Communicate with global CFOs and stakeholders on tax reserving matters.
  • Liaise with external advisors when necessary.
  • Coordinate and support junior team members in London and other offices in the UK

Key Requirements:

  • Collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships with the team colleagues globally.
  • Effective communication of complex tax and accounting issues to non-specialists.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong General Ledger accounting skills.
  • Demonstrated numeric proficiency.
  • ACA or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Tax qualification (e.g., ADIT or CTA) desirable.
  • Experience in Corporate Tax to Manager level.
