European Financial Controller
Brewer Morris are excited to be working with an international fintech company who are looking for their new European Financial Controller in Belgium.
As the European Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in upholding financial integrity in their partnerships. You’ll provide valuable advisory support to business teams across areas such as accounting & controls, deal structures and terms, and M&A.
For the right fit as the European Financial Controller, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to work closely with the CFO, contributing to the ongoing evolution of the finance organization to better serve our business teams. Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financials for the supported Region/BU and ensure company compliance with external and corporate accounting requirements.
- Guide financial decisions for business transactions, including acquisitions and investments, through accounting/regulatory advice and the establishment, monitoring, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance on complex and emerging issues, prepare technical accounting memorandums, and consult with Corporate Accounting when needed.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce operational and SOX controls to maintain a strong control environment based on corporate guidelines, supporting and challenging managers to enhance controls.
- Lead M&A due diligence and integration activities from an accounting and control perspective.
- Drive a continuous process improvement agenda.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, anticipate future legislation, enforce adherence to requirements, file financial reports, and advise management on necessary actions.
- Manage multiple teams, offering support and guidance to ensure cohesive teamwork.
Requirements
- Active CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Extensive global organization experience in accounting controls and financial processes.
- Strong knowledge of US & Local GAAP, Internal Controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting & finance systems/software applications.
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to drive positive results.
- Strong project management, analytical, and financial skills.
