Key Responsibilities

  1. Program Leadership:
    • Establish and lead the Commercial Continuous Improvement program, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals
    • Recruit and staff the Commercial Excellence team
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute initiatives effectively
    • Foster a culture of commercial excellence across the organization through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing initiatives
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to align commercial strategies with business objectives
    • Communicate progress and results of commercial initiatives to key stakeholders
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of commercial strategies
    • Continuously identify and implement commercial improvement potentials
    • Utilize data and analytics to monitor performance and identify areas for enhancement
    • Implement measures to increase sales efficiency in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  2. Commercial Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives.
    • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive profitable growth.
    • Ensure consistency of the commercial strategy, including: commercial organization, commercial & pricing policies, forecasting capabilities, implementation of commercial best practices and sales force engagement
  3. Sales team Effectiveness:
    • Lead initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of our salesforce
    • Develop and lead implementation of best practices for sales processes, systems, training, and performance management
  4. Strategic Pricing
    • Create and oversee pricing models that align with the company’s overall objectives, market conditions, and competitive landscape, ensuring profitability and market competitiveness.
    • Continuously monitor market trends, customer behavior, and competitor pricing strategies to identify opportunities or risks and make data-driven adjustments to pricing strategies.
    • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Finance teams to ensure pricing strategies are aligned with business goals and product value propositions.
    • Analyze data to optimize pricing structures, improve profit margins, and recommend adjustments to ensure pricing is aligned with demand elasticity and market changes.
    • Track the effectiveness of pricing strategies, measure their impact on revenue and profitability, and provide regular reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  5. Product/Service Optimization:
    • Optimize the product and service mix to meet market demands and maximize revenue (and margin) generating opportunities
    • Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for new product/service offerings
  6. Customer Focus:
    • Refine customer selection and segmentation criteria to ensure the company targets high-value clients
    • Develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction and retention
    • Ensure that all improvements have our customers best interest in mind reinforcing customer centricity
    • Utilize customer insights to inform commercial strategies and improve customer experience
    • Lead initiatives focused on customer success, ensuring clients achieve their desired outcomes through the company’s products and service
  7. Contract Management:
    • Oversee the management of commercial contracts to ensure favorable terms and compliance with company policies
    • Work closely with legal and procurement teams to negotiate contracts that support business goals
  8. Inside Sales:
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the performance of the inside sales team
    • Ensure the inside sales function is aligned with broader commercial strategies to maximize revenue
  9. Sales Controlling / Commercial Steering / Revenue Assurance:
    • Oversee commercial steering / sales controlling activities, including the monitoring, analysis, and management of performance metrics (KPIs) to ensure alignment of sales and commercial activities with overall business objectives
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to steer commercial activities in the right direction
    • Identify, analyze, mitigate, and prevent revenue leakage through a range of measures to reduce risks of losses due to errors, negligence, or fraud while identifying opportunities to increase revenues and maximize profits
  10. Digital Enablement:
    • Lead the digital enablement of commercial processes to enhance efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and customer engagement
    • Implement and oversee digital tools and platforms that support commercial excellence initiatives
    • Ensure the integration of digital technologies within the commercial transformation strategy
  11. Market and Competitive Landscape Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough analysis of the competitive landscape to identify industry trends, threats, and opportunities
    • Develop strategies to position the company competitively in the market
    • Monitor competitor activities and performance to inform strategic decision-making
    • Conduct market and consumer analyses to identify trends and opportunities for new product/ service offerings
  12. Senior Leadership Team Membership:
    • Participate as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team for the Americas region.
    • Contribute to broader strategic decisions and initiatives across the region.
    • Collaborate with other senior leaders to drive the overall success and growth of the Americas business.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
    • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial roles with a focus on commercial strategy and transformation
    • Proven track record of leading successful commercial initiatives and driving revenue growth in similar environments
  • Skills:
    • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
    • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional team
