With support from a junior VAT analyst, you will take the lead on Indirect tax matters for this large & successful construction company.

  • Review and submission of VAT returns -1 group VAT registration (16 companies) and 8 standalone VAT registrations for joint ventures (special attention required in relation to Domestic reverse charge)
  • Review of CIS returns
  • Dealing with HMRC correspondence and enquiries
  • Provide tax technical advice (VAT, CIS, Customs) to the Finance teams on ad hoc transactions and projects in the UK and overseas. Liaise with external advisers where specialist advice required.
  • Provide indirect tax training and updates to colleagues in the Finance team and around the business
  • Advise overseas group companies and JVs who are undertaking activities in the UK on their UK tax obligations.
  • Provide support to other members of the tax team in relation to other tax matters wherever possible, eg. Employment tax
  • Maintain relevant parts of the tax risk management and governance framework, including compliance with the senior accounting officer regime.

Qualification

– ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified or qualified by experience.

– A solid UK VAT background gained in practice or industry.

– Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT and Construction Industry Scheme
