Interim VAT Manager job in central London requires an experienced VAT Manager who is available to start this role in November, and who is able to prepare and review VAT returns.

Joining the VAT team of an in-house tax team, this is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end VAT compliance process across a diverse portfolio of entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with HMRC requirements.

Key responsibilities will involve:

  • Lead the monthly VAT compliance process for circa. 75-80 VAT returns, including VAT groups and standalone registrations.

  • Allocate tasks across the VAT team and report progress to the Senior VAT Manager and Director of Tax.

  • Prepare complex VAT returns.

  • Manage the VAT payment process to ensure timely settlement of liabilities.
  • Assist with VAT registrations and deregistrations as needed.

  • Liaise with HMRC.

To be considered for this role it is required to have a strong interest and capability in VAT return processing, process improvement, and technology enablement.

The working pattern is 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home per week, allowing for plenty of inperson interaction with relevant stakeholders. This is a 12 plus months contract and we are looking for commitment to the full duration.
