As a Tax Technology and Operations Specialist, you will help develop and execute department strategic goals and initiatives and make meaningful contributions impacting all aspects of the tax function. Your responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with Enterprise Technology, IT and Data Management teams to develop and document comprehensive tax technology strategy and road map
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements, increase automation, and enhance digital analytics using existing and emerging technology solutions
  • Evaluate technology options and communicate recommendations for tax tools software, assessments of process and data flows, tax systems implementation and configuration, and overall digital tax transformation
  • Provide tax technical support for all tax areas, including diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues and ensuring overall tax function operates efficiently
  • Manage tax technology vendor and service provider relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery and maintenance of products
  • Maintain tax-basis ledger, tax data and hierarchies, core account structures and mapping to meet evolving needs
  • Enhance and maintain system of controls, a controlled system environment, and governance to mitigate tax and financial risks
  • Gain clear and concise knowledge of the business, including understanding tax positions
  • Work across the organization and with business stakeholders to resolve/communicate key issues, critical decisions, and priorities

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in in Accounting, Tax Technology and/or Management Information Systems,
  • 7+ years tax technology experience (public accounting or large company)

The Ideal Qualifications

  • CPA or MST highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of tax systems and data flow, technical architecture, integrations, data interface between ERP and tax systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly and appropriately handle sensitive information
  • General understanding of corporate tax framework, tax compliance, tax reporting and tax audit data needs
  • Proficient in implementing and maintaining tax technology products, such as CorpTax and Premium Pro for tax return preparation, tax accounting, and state apportionment
  • Experience managing large, multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g., ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, finance transformations)
  • Conversant in Financial and Accounting Systems, such as SAP
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend effective solutions
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Strong ability to utilize project management and best practices to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes
