Responsabilities

  • Compliance preparation and review of federal and state income and franchise tax returns for all affiliated companies including:
  • Gathering and analyzing financial information and tax rules to calculate tax adjustments
  • Reviewing tax form instructions to ensure that all information is reported correctly.
  • Preparing and reviewing supporting work papers and maintaining tax files
  • Preparing complex tax returns
  • Detail reviewing tax returns prepared by tax associates
  • Downloading computerized general ledger information into Excel spreadsheets and converting the data in the files into the form necessary to transfer data to tax return preparation software
  • Prepare data requests for third party providers and analyze tax items for reporting
  • Communicate and coordinate with accounting personnel / controllers to resolve any questions or issues that arise through data analysis.
  • Assist in preparation and review of quarterly taxable income estimates (federal and state) and year -end basis calculations for all companies.
  • Research and reporting on issues relating to taxation of the various entities and shareholders.
  • Assistance, preparation, and review of annual and quarterly ASC 740 tax provision, including gathering and analyzing source data.
  • Assist accountants in the review of categorization and coordination of unique transactions. Assist with various special projects including excel modeling of tax impacts.
  • Assist with coordination and reporting for annual property tax processes along with coordination with third party providers. Correspond with tax authorities concerning notices.
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and manage consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage assigned special projects.
  • Assist with the detail review of items prepared by Tax Accountants.
  • Assist with process improvements and management of assigned tasks.
  • Oversee and supervise other’s work.
  • Supervises the completion of accurate tax returns in order to minimize the tax obligations of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from four-year college or university; plus five to ten years related public accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Significant experience with the preparation and detail review of various tax returns.
