Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage U.S. tax operations, collaborating with external tax advisors and service providers. Prepare federal and state compliance workpapers, calculate quarterly estimates, process payments, and maintain tax attributes.
  • Support the preparation of the annual ASC 740 tax provision and related disclosures.
  • Design and maintain working papers for tax compliance and reporting. Develop and maintain income tax-related standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with business teams to identify, consider, and communicate tax risks.
  • Provide technical assistance for tax practices and procedures, and assist in defending tax positions during audits.
  • Review income tax compliance to identify opportunities for tax minimization and process efficiencies.
  • Monitor and analyze tax legislative changes and their impact on the company.
  • Support the VP of Tax in defending filing positions and negotiating resolutions of proposed deficiencies.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by the VP of Tax.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • Experience and Skills: Minimum of 5 years of experience in domestic tax compliance and analysis, with strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and ASC 740.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with automation tools (e.g., PowerBI, Alteryx) is a plus.
  • Core Competencies: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with automation tools such as PowerBI and Alteryx.
  • CPA or Master’s in Taxation.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the financial services industry.
