Basics of Role: tax planning / advisory work with a special emphasis on forecasting and modeling for expected future growth; big emphasis on M&A here

Qualifications: 7 to 10 years of experience; a CPA and/or Masters of Tax; some Big 4, some experience at a major corporation

Duties:

  • High level decision making regarding tax research, planning, and modeling of tax implications with respect to internal reorganizations, acquisitions, and dispositions. Evaluate and recommend structures/alternatives for proposed transactions (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, inter-company transfers, etc.).
    * High level decision making regarding research projects and drafting position papers in support of tax positions taken on federal and/or state returns, including tax controversy projects.
    * Managing responses to information and document requests from IRS and state auditors.
    * This person should provide tax technical leadership by keeping abreast of changes in the federal (and material state and international) tax laws.
