Tax Manager – Accounting for Income Tax

As a Tax Manager specializing in Accounting for Income Tax, you will play a crucial role in navigating the company through complex tax accounting, planning, compliance, and strategic execution during mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the calculation of the tax provision, effective tax rate, taxable income, and deferred tax computations, as well as review the tax basis balance sheets to calculate purchase accounting adjustments for a company with significant M&A activity
  • Manage requests for information between the company, external auditors, and external advisors
  • Effectively model the impact of M&A transactions as it relates to the tax provision, tax compliance, treasury goals, and legislative changes
  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their impact on the company, and provide strategic recommendations accordingly

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of corporate tax experience, ideally with experience from a Big 4 or large regional tax firm, or another large corporation, with a focus on corporate income tax accounting
  • Organized, detail-oriented, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously while working with internal and external colleagues
