State and Local Tax Manager
State Tax Manager – Hybrid Role
We’re partnering with a global organization to recruit a State Tax Manager who will lead U.S. state and local tax operations. This is a high-impact role focused on compliance, provision work, audit management, and strategic planning across multiple tax types and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee state income, franchise, property, and sales/use tax compliance
- Lead quarterly and annual ASC 740 provision calculations
- Manage tax audits and coordinate responses across functions
- Drive process improvements and leverage tax technology tools (SAP, OneSource, Power BI)
- Collaborate on tax planning strategies to reduce liabilities and support business structuring
- Supervise outsourced teams and mentor internal staff
Ideal Background:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MST preferred)
- 8-10+ years in corporate or public accounting tax roles
- Strong technical command of ASC 740 and multi-state tax regulations
- Experience with U.S. multinational entities and tax technology platforms
- Proven leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
