State and Local Tax Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage direct and indirect state tax compliance processes
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all returns including income/franchise, sales & use, property tax renditions, and other business-related filings
- Monitor and respond to state tax notices and state tax controversy
- Review accruals, journal entries, and related account reconciliations
- Assist with the design, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of state tax processes and controls
- Act as a subject matter expert for all state and local income tax matters
- Perform state tax calculations relating to ASC740
- Collaborate with the Senior Tax Manager/Director of Tax on special tax projects and studies
- Support effective and timely communication with internal and external parties as needed
- Assist with other areas as assigned, such as tax incentives and business acquisitions
MINIMUM QUALIFICIATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Masters of Tax a plus
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Minimum of 6 year of tax experience in public accounting or corporate environment
- Strong state and local tax knowledge
- Highly organized, driven, and coachable mindset
- Detail oriented and analytical
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Blackline, FAS, etc.
- Experience with manufacturing, retail, insurance or mortgage industries is a plus
