This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a Global Hedge Fund's tax team, which oversees all of the US Tax affairs of the Funds businesses globally with support from advisors. The Funds tax function provides tax advice to the business units, ensures tax compliance within the investment vehicles, and manages the Fund's tax related external relations both in the US and worldwide.

There will be a strong focus to ensure delivery of US tax obligations, with a focus on the Global Private Markets business. Due to the diverse nature of the business, the role will also provide significant opportunities to work on advisory projects outside the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in in partnering with the US Global Private Markets business unit on tax matters relating to the investment strategy
  • Product structing and implementation
  • Investment review and advice
  • Overseeing service providers, including delivery of compliance
  • Oversight of the build and maintenance of the US private markets' platforms, including set up and upkeep of compliance for fund entities
  • Assist in US product planning with Sales and Product teams
  • Involvement in ad hoc US tax advice on product development across all business units ensuring the advice is appropriate to the investment distribution strategy
  • Assist with US risk management in the form of control oversight and development, including maintenance of internal policies and framework documents, review of meeting materials and touchpoints with stakeholders
  • Manage work program and career development of more junior team members
  • Remain up to date on US legislative changes that might affect the firm or the business units

Key Skills & Experience:​

  • Experience in a senior tax role within the Financial Services industry
  • Extensive US tax experience structuring investment products
  • Significant exposure to US direct lending and loan origination
  • Exposure to US taxation of real estate investments for non-US investors
  • Tax technical knowledge in US tax and US operational taxes
  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax issues to business and other non-tax professionals across the firm
  • The ability to analyse and problem-solve with attention to detail
