RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Sr. Tax Manager will play a key role in ensuring the day to day tax department operations run smoothly.
  • Manage all tax filings prepared internally, including property tax, sales/use tax, and 1099s; ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to state and local laws.
  • Review all tax work papers and returns prepared by subordinates.
  • Prepare tax provision and tax disclosures for financial statement reporting in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Liaise with our third party income tax preparers, assemble and review requested data needed to prepare federal and state income tax returns.
  • Prepare taxable income projections for our third party tax preparers and ensure estimated tax payments are made timely and communicated to appropriate Finance team members.
  • Review the research and development tax credit computation prepared internally and ensure the Company is getting the maximum credit amount.
  • Assemble any data requested by auditors and manage tax audits.
  • Prepare responses to tax correspondence / inquiries from federal and state taxing authorities.
  • Research tax reporting and compliance questions.
  • Effectively explain tax concepts and issues to non-tax stakeholders in simple and concise terms.
  • Manage and act as a mentor to tax team with a focus on training and development.
  • Develop and/or maintain financial reports for tax reporting.
  • Improve processes for internally prepared tax filings.
  • Drive transformation with our tax systems to enforce controls, efficiency, and accuracy of tax processes.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and assist, lead and/or manage special tax projects assigned by the Sr. Director of Corporate Shared Services.
  • Stay up-to-date on any legislative and regulation updates to ensure compliance and identify tax planning opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant corporate tax experience in a public accounting firm or industry.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with S-Corp, C-Corp and LLC tax filings preferred.
  • Intermediate level of understanding of ASC 740.
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability for identifying and implementing process improvements, including the use of new tax software and automation tools.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with Transfer Pricing guidelines, rules and methodologies, a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
